Physical Therapy

Pediatric Physical Therapy in Greater Phoenix
From infancy through young adulthood, we help children develop and improve motor skills, coordination, balance, endurance, and strength through personalized pediatric physical therapy. We’re committed to helping every child move confidently through the world.
What is Physical Therapy for Kids?
In physical therapy, individuals work with pediatric physical therapists to reach their maximum potential to function independently–which can be different for every person! Children’s physical therapy is used to treat a range of acute or chronic challenges with movement. Not only can therapy correct or alleviate these issues, but it also encourages confidence, participation in learning opportunities, and improves the safety of your loved one as they navigate their environment.
Each pediatric physical therapy plan is custom-tailored to the needs of your loved one and might involve play-based exercises, specialized toys, adaptive equipment training, and more. We also believe parents and caregivers play an essential role in the success of physical therapy. Our caregiver training will help you reinforce our work at home with modified exercises and tips on positioning during daily activities.
There are many reasons why your loved one might benefit from pediatric physical therapy. Whatever the reason, starting treatment as soon as a challenge is identified is especially important because children are still developing. Here are just a few of the common mobility challenges a pediatric physical therapist can target:
- Delayed motor milestones like crawling, walking, or standing
- Balance and coordination issues
- Muscle weakness or hypotonia
- Cerebral Palsy
- Gait abnormalities such as toe walking
- Spina Bifida, Scoliosis, or other spinal disorders
- Muscle tone, balance, and coordination impacted by developmental disorders
- Joint mobility and range of motion
- Injury or surgical recovery
All our PT sessions occur in our pediatric physical therapy clinic in Chandler where we have access to specialized equipment, modified toys, and can regulate sensory input. Parents and staff describe our center as having a certain energy of action and growth, and kids look forward to their visits as they would a trip to the park or a familiar friend’s house. While every individual is different, most sessions are 1 hour and occur 1-2 times per week. Learn more about our clinic or check out our 3D virtual tour to see for yourself.
